Optical fibre converters

Serial to fiber optic converters are devices that allow serial data (e.g. RS-232/422/485) to be transmitted over optical fiber instead of traditional copper cable. Optical fibre is advantageous in situations where it is necessary to transmit data over longer distances or where immunity to electromagnetic interference is required.
